In memory of

Denise McLaughlin

The Denise McLaughlin Ladybug Scholarship honors Denise McLaughlin, a former Girls Mentor Girls board member and humanitarian whose life was defined by service to others.

Denise was a successful accountant and Bronx property owner who founded and managed Saint Bath Naturals, her own skincare line. She went on to earn a theology degree and took part in international medical missions across the Caribbean, Africa, and the United States through the Organization of International Development.

She joined the Girls Mentor Girls board shortly before her passing, and is remembered for showing compassion for every person regardless of their past — working, as those who knew her put it, "from the heart and not the ego."

The tiny ladybug reminds us that even with limited resources and simple actions, one person can make a big difference in the world.
