Help lead Girls Mentor Girls forward.

Board members shape the strategy, sustainability, and future of GMG — separate from our mentoring programs and open to a different kind of commitment.

Why join the board

Shape where GMG goes next

Girls Mentor Girls is a grassroots, Bronx-based nonprofit built on peer mentoring and sisterhood. As GMG grows, our board plays a key role in guiding strategy, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the organization can keep offering mentorship, workshops, and scholarships to the girls who rely on it.

This is a leadership opportunity distinct from mentoring — board members generally don't work one-on-one with mentees, but instead help steer the organization from the top.

What board members contribute

  • Strategic guidance on programs, partnerships, and organizational growth
  • Fundraising support and connections to potential donors or partners
  • Professional expertise — legal, financial, marketing, nonprofit management, or community relationships
  • Advocacy for GMG's mission across the Bronx and broader community
