Intern (Spring 23')

"Hello! My name is Fatoumata Soumahoro, and I'm a current junior at Brooklyn College studying Business Administration with a concentration in business law and real estate. I always envisioned working alongside organizations such as Girls mentor Girls because I longed for a safer space in my community where I would receive mentorship from people who looked like me. I am excited for Girls mentor Girls future and equally excited for the generation of young people who would be ready to step into themselves with the help of GMG.

Intern (Spring 23')

Hi! I'm Azaryah and I'm a sophomore at Bronx Community College studying Black and Latinx studies. Girls mentor Girls is a great experience because it's an organization focused on uplifting women of color and encouraging them to go after what they want to do. Working with GMG has allowed me to improve my craft in writing and overall creativity. I am able to bring my talents to the team and gain new lessons along the way. I love being able to support our communities of color. I love to read, write, and draw. I mostly love writing poetry; it helps me better understand myself and my feelings. I'm big on having self-love and poetry is one of the few things that helped me build my self-love. I like going to museums and listening to music. I want to continue to spread my works of art so that other people of color know that their voice matters too.
